Default 2004 Silverado window cable

Hi all; New to forum today.
I have a 2004 Silverado crew cab. The drivers window quit working today (power windows). I removed the door panel and noticed the cable is broken at the motor. Can I just replace the cable? Where can I find instructions? Thanks RAC

Nope! It's sold as a complete assembly. Get used to replacing them too. They are junk. I've replaced my drivers side twice, and when I get around to it I'm doing the passenger side for the second time.

all true! Although I've only had one pass. side replaced. ...and don't ask why but I had the dealership do it. If I recall correctly, I think they raped me for somewhere near $350-400 just to do it. They said the part, can't remember if they called it the "regulator", or the "actuator" or something costed $200-250 alone, since you have to purchase the whole assembly.
ridiculous.

Well I guess a guy has to do what he has to do. Any ideas where I can get directions on how to change it ?

Don't know about directions, but it's pretty self explanatory. I just did mine today. Took about an hour. The hardest part was getting the window out of the door and back in. There's really not much to it.

I just changed my drivers side assembly for the second time. I purchased an after market unit off of EBay for $40. I would almost recommend buying an OEM unit instead of the cheaper after market units. The reason being the after market units tend to run a lot slower than the OEM unit. As far as installation is concerned it's not all that difficult. I used duck tape and taped the window in the up position. Than all you ned to do is install the kit and bolt it all in. Hope this helps.
