Default RE: 2005 Silverado Additional Warranty

You can wait and purchase that warranty if you do so just shy of the 3year/36k, which ever comes first. The same is true for people with extended warrantees of 5 years/75k. You can, prior to warranty exceeding either of the stated bench marks and get a warranty to 100,000 miles for about $275. 2001 Owners, you can still extend your warranty if you bought your truck or car after today’s date, 11/16/2006 when I posted this. I would urge you to get the additional warranty. You can purchase it right up to the date you originally bought your truck/car, either 3/5 years after depending on initial warranty. I would try and get it done 3 days prior but you have room. Remember this; if one dealership won't sell it to you, another will. Just keep calling dlrshps and you will find one. You can also buy one from an OUT OF STATE GM DLRSHP by phone, just don't give up. If you can't find anyone, contact GM's complaint number which you can get from any/all dlrshps and ask them to help you and they will. I had many problems between 80k-95k that were covered by the extra warranty I purchased saving my close to $6500, well worth the extra $300.
Hope that helps
