whats up guys i was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what this is i just recently purchased a 2008 Silverado Z71 LT and it had the stock 17in wheels i decided i wanted bigger so i went with Cruiser Cakes there 22in wheels wrapped in nitto 285/45/22's i got them put on today and i noticed when i hit the brakes it starts shaking like the front rotors are warped but it never did it when i had the 17s any ideas??

 

Thats more weight to stop my friend. Does it shake on highway cruising speeds?

 

nah doesnt shake at all while driving just when you apply the brakes i thought about that but was unsure ive always had sports cars and you really dont go that big on those maybe go from 16's to 17's

 

mighta run your wheels down so tight with the impact they warped the rotors.

 

I'd say check your lug nuts, they might be loose. I had a similar thing happen to me on a car once. I felt no vibration under way, but when I went to brake it would shake like hell got back to take the wheel back off to find the lugs were barely holding on. Another question is are the wheels hub-centric? If not it's possible the wheel isn't centered/ balanced on the hub.

 

yep. lugs too tight OR too loose could cause it, and since you just had new tires and wheels put on thats where i'd look first.

 

I had the same thing happen to me on my 2008. I put on 20" wheels.
I ended up bringing it to the gm dealer and the said they had to remove
some retainers. Mabee sombody on here knows what retainers there talking about. I also had to have my drums turned because I waited to
long.
