Default 305 driving us crazie

ok guys we have a 95 305 in our 1500 the engine is a new rebuilt with a 600 edlebrook carb, wieand intake, new mallory hei dist, all pollution items have been taken off, heres are problem we cant get ride or a miss at idle, it run good when driving has nice power just when come to a stop it misses, but the tach stays steady at 650, we have adjusted the valves 3 times , set the timing six times seems to run best at 4 degrees bftd, vacuum is a steady 18, fuel pressure is 6psi as edlebrook said not do go over 6.5 psi the only thing is on the pressure gauge the needle is not steady it flucuates alot, and we cant get a straight answer on which side of the carb the vacuum advance should go on the timed or full vacuum, edlebrook says timed some people say timed and some say full we tryed both ways but either way dont take the miss away, right now its on the timed side any help would be great thanks

Check your spark plugs? Make sure all the boots are on the cap and plugs good and tight.

Yea, check that whole ignition line. Plugs, wires, cap etc... Any cracks in the cap, or plugs porcelain... when you gas it hard you usually can't feel anything abnormal until you slow down.

Start with the little things.
