4.3 W/ Zero Compression...HELP!!!!!
#11
Well I figured it out. After putting the head back on I was in the process of putting the rocker arms back on and low and behold the stupid rocker arm support (the part that the roller rockers sit on and a bolt goes through both) had a crack in it which casued the rocker arm bolt to be tightened to far down in order to get the right torque spec (these are non adjustable and are simply torqued to 22 ft lbs). It must have been like that for a while b/c you can see a slight groove wore into it. I just happened to be looking at the right spot when I was torquing them down. So basically I pulled the head for a $5 (yeah thats right $5 from the dealer) part! I guess it could have been worse, but damn!!! I had many a good wrench baffled on this one. This is one that will be fresh in my mind for years to come. Moral of the story: Check, recheck, and then check a few more times EVERY part before tearing down the major stuff!!!!! I could have fixed this truck for $5 and about an hour labor - man that stings!!!!

Wow!!! Imma store that diagnostic check in memory. Good find buddy. That is how it goes though, I have learned to be patient as much as I can to find the problem. A few bucks for some Ibuprofen for a headache is a lot better than a few hundred spent for an unbroken part.
