Default 4" Lift or 6" Lift?

I've got a 2005 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 1500 and I was wondering which lift size to go with. Should i run a 4" Lift with 33" Tires or run a 6" Lift with 35" Tires? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this with gas, maintenance, etc. Anything you guys know please share your experiences/knowledge.

Thanks

I had a 6" lift on my 06 gmc sierra 1500 crew cab z71 with 35" tires and got around 13mpg then i put torsion keys on it and 2" blocks in the back which raised it to an 8" lift and got around 11mpg. Keep in mind though that's with a 5.3L, a k&n cold air intake, and a helix power tower (throttle body spacer). But now i have 24" wheels and 37" tires and I get 11.2mpg. Weird how i went up 2" in lift and tire size and still get 11mpg???
