I am in the process of taking out my tranny. Its 4x4 i was wondering if the 4x4 case has to come out also?

to make it alot easier i would take the transfer case off before taking out the tranny so its not so bulky and heavy i believe its only 6 bolts holding the transfer case to the transmission. its not very hard to get off.
