Default 5.3 super chip?

Is there a super chip that would make a noticable difference in gas mileage for a 2000 silverado 5.3?

I am getting about 1 1/2 - 2 mpg better with a black bear tune.

Man that would be fantastic, but I think they are being a bit generous.

You can but only losing power in exchange. Im in the process of making my own dial for manually adjusting the air/fuel ratio on the fly. Im just running the mixture leaner on the highway to gain it. But in town I go back to 14.7. But a good tune will give at most for gas about 3 more MPG.

I removed a lot of the governor stuff on my truck, especially with the transmission, use 93 octane which helps (but costs as much more as it saves you each fill up), and then just keep up on the maintenance and tire pressure. Taking too much back pressure off the exhaust with huge dual setups kills city MPG.

#1 way to save gas......(drum roll)...drive the speed limit and accelerate slowly. I might have gained a mpg or two with modifications, but this will save you even more. Ask any mechanic.
