Default 5th wheel/Goose neck towing "not recommended" - why not?

Why is the 05 Silverado 1500 limited Edition Crew Cab "not designed or recommended for towing 5th wheel/goose neck trailers" According to the Owners Manual?
Thanks
Brent

The bed is too short and on some gooseneck trailers if you turn while in a dip it will crush your cab. If you get a pointed neck gooseneck trailer you will be fine

it all depends on what kind of trailer u have for it. if its one with a narrow front end on it like a flatbed trailer i would say it would work but keep it light. if ur looking at pulling a camper or horse trailer then the box is to short.

You can get the sliding hitch and probably be ok. Don't use a normal 5th wheel w/ a normal hitch though, you'll blow out your rear window if you turn much at all.
