6" Lift question

6" Lift question
I'm looking to get a 6" lift to run 35" tire and was wondering if anyone has this lift/tire combo. if you do, did you have to upgrade your diff gears as well or is the loss in acceleration negligible? I don't tow anything over 2K lbs. Also, what is your overall height from roof line to pavement?
thanks!
thanks!

RE: 6" Lift question
Well i had this combo on a 97 half ton crew cab. I can't tell u the height from roof to pavement but i can tell u that i never changed gears and my truck ran just fine.I didnt think there was any reason for me to change the gears but i was 16 years oldthen and i was just happy to have the biggest truck in school. lol
I never towed anything so that wasnt an issue for me.
The only one thing that i had to deal with on my truck was the tires rubbed the fender flairs that i put on. And i had to take a little of the corner off the front bumber. But other then that it looked and ran awsome.
Good luck with your lift!

RE: 6" Lift question
Depending on what year your truck is you probably wont be able to run 35s with only a 6 inch lift. I have 6 inch lift with 33s and I still had to trim the front bumper a little bit. No you dont have to change your gears but the loss in accerleration is definitely noticable but not significant. In terms of height, my truck still fits in almost every parking garage where I live. Hope this helps you out.

RE: 6" Lift question
35" tires are not always 35" tall. Depends what rim you have them on and how wide the tires are. My 35's are only 33.5" from the pavement. With a 4" lift my truck is about 7' to roof, just a guess based on my hieght at 6'. When driving in low clearance don't forget about Onstar if you have it.

RE: 6" Lift question
Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm glad to hear a gear swap isn't necessary. I've owned Jeeps in the past and I had to swap gears everytime I went to a bigger tire size. I'm in a 6'8" garage now for work but we're moving in January to another location. I guess the lift will have to wait until then.
