Default 82 6.2 diesel

Hey guys

I am looking at a 82 chevy 1 ton with a 6.2 diesel and a 4 speed tranny, just wondering if you guys know much about these trucks, and how reliable these motors are,... also would a 350 engine from the same era bolt onto the transmition?

I am looking for a truck to hook up to my 30ft goose neck but don't have the money to but anything new or really expensive and thought this might be a good project to work with

Here's a link to the truck ad

Personally I think it's a bit overpriced... $2500 for something that isn't even road legal at the moment.

I would try and find a later model with a 454 Gasser already in it. I think that the 82 could end up being more money than it's worth

i agree with gmcsierra fan o nthis one thats way to much for something not ready to drive
i would look for a 3/4 ton truck as the most common engine size is 454
i would also look for it to be newer then 82 as those trucks are old and may not have the frame strenght left in them to pull anything
but thats my opinion

Lot of money for what is offered. As for the 6.2L.. good engine if reutine maintenance was done, injectors, glow plugs, relays, oil changes.
