83 sierra 305 4 speed

Default 83 sierra 305 4 speed
I am wondering what trans I have, it is a manual 4 speed, the case looks like a box with a u joint on one side the driveshaft has some weird attachment to the frame,


and the air filter has some weird metal screen in it. WTF is it? a heater or something?
