Default 92 Siverado HVAC control head dead??

Howdy all you Heroes,

Backing out of a parking spot, reached up and pushed the fan (blower motor) button, and the control head went dead, lights out, no effect. Now there is no display, and no buttons work anything.

Hvac fuse (25 amp) is good, replaced with a new one anyway, no effect.

Disconnected the battery for a bit, no effect.

What else should I check?

Thanks, Mark

Try checking your fuses or you just got a dead head unit.

Get a test light and check for juice to the source. If you have power then its a bad head.

Howdy,

Getting 12+ volts to the fuse, read varying voltages at the wiring plug: 8+ volts here, 5+ volts there... Is there another fuse, relay, or fuseable link somewhere?

I'd hate to buy another control only to find a problem elsewhere-

Thanks, Mark

It might also have a relay. Check that. Switch it out with another one and see.
