I lost my keys so I went and bought a new ignition switch and replaced it now the key wont turn all the way to the start position it only goes to the on position and all the dash lights work properly I am at a stand still I dont know if this model truck requires a ignition switch from the dealer if it has a security thing on the ignition switch or what.Can someone tell me what is causing the problem please help!!!!

 

You should have an ignition box that has a gear inside it that turns with the key. It sounds like the gear got turned during the swap. It has to line back up exactly where it was.

 

Okay I kind of had a feeling it had something to do with that because I had to take the ignition completely off because I didnt have the key to get the switch out Ill take it back off and see what I can do I'll let you know thank you for the help.
