Default 97 1500 Fuel Filter

Does anybody know how to change the fuel filter on a '97 1500 z71 with a 5.7?

yeah its on your driver side against the frame. everything is metric so you will need metric wrenches. what i did was bleed the fuel pressure out by the fuel pressure valve on the top of your engine. you will have to take your air intake off of your throttle body to get to it. then bleed it out, if you dont know where it is, it is on your fuel line and you will see a black cap take it off and then let the fuel out to releive some of the pressure. then after that just go loosen your filter and pay attention to how it comes out. then install the new one, make sure its tight and your done.

Just did mine on my 98 by following the directions in my repair manual. All I had to do was take off the gas cap to relieve pressure, then take off the filter which is right below the gas cap along driver side frame rail. I don't see any reason to do all the stuff randy said, it worked fine for me the way I did it.
