Question 97 5.7 vortex lower intake leak help with torque

I know this is a common problem on this engine and I decieded to tackle this job myself. I got the intake off and all cleaned up along with the heads and getting ready to drop it back on and my book says that the lower intake bolts are to be torqued down to 27 inch pounds. That just doesn't sound right to me. Can anyone tell me the proper torque?

Followed the instructions in the manual and went together pretty good. Started right up and didn't even have to time it. Purrs like a kitten.

For right around 400 bucks I did the job myself. I bought the FelPro gasket set, I replaced the water pump, serpintine belt, distributer cap and rotor, new plug wires, plugs, oil and oil filter, antifreeze, thermostat, and heater hoses.
