Default (ABS) light stays on.

Well the other day I noticed my (ABS) light is on, and it hasnt been on before. Its been about two weeks. And I want to know what that means.
Is it anything serious? Should there be anything I should worry about? I havent noticed a difference at all, but I havent had to get on the brakes hard. One of my friends says it means the anti lock brakes arent working properly.

What should I do?

Thanks for your help.

Default RE: (ABS) light stays on.

It usually means that there is a problem with your ABS but it could be a sensor gone bad. Take it to auto zone and they will hook up a code reader to it and give you the exact code(s) that are creating the fault. They do not charge to do this and you will have something concrete to go on.
