Ac problems

My AC does not work on my 1993 Chevy Suburban. The fan works, the AC indicator light comes on but no cold air and no signs of the compressor engaging. Where do I begin checking? Is the compressor bad?

Probably has no freon. If it has freon then check the compressor. The compressor will not come on if the pressure is to low. So first thing first check to see if it has freon in it then go from there.
