Default adding a 3rd door to ext. cab

i want to know if anyone has tried to add a 3rd door to a non-3rd door extended cab or if this is just a rediculous idea...? thanks

I think if your gonna go to that much trouble... why not make a small crew cab out of it???

That would be extremely hard to do IMO

because replacing a door is hard to do because it has to be lined up with the brackets then the weather guarding the gapping and all that stuff

also cutting could be a problem because you'll never get it to fit on right because the extended cabs add room so the door can swing open

Don't do it - you will be way better off selling the truck and buying a 3rd door factory truck. Or like In2Trux says - if your gonna go through the trouble of customizing something do something that the factory didn't offer. I vote for a crew cab with an extra cab behind it - a crew cab by itself is already available from the factory.
