Air Bag Disconnect

Air Bag Disconnect
I want (need?) to do some floor pan rust repair on my truck. Under the driver's seat is an air bag sensor. I'd like to remove it for the repair. But, I understand one is to never mess with any air bag stuff without removing the negative battery cable. I wonder if it is OK to just remove the Air Bag fuse. I hesitate to remove the battery negative because I bought the truck used and have no idea if the radio will lock out. If it does, I sure don't have the code.
Any ideas on the topic? Does removing the fuse disable all the air bags (for next time I have to work near an air bag component.)
(I asked a dealer shop: "Just bring the truck in and we'll fix your floor pan at our wonderful body shop. Then we will empty your wallet to pay for all the Bondo we'll slap onto your truck.")
Thanks!
