I have to admit I like the way mine moves now that I got it modified a little. I get on the highway on my way home and have to take a long on-ramp. I push it a little on the on-ramp and once I get to about 3000 rpm I slowly start getting pushed back into my seat until it shifts. I LIKE IT!

It was a method to overcome the torque management thing. If you nail the gas, the torque management kicks in pretty hard. If you go from a 5mph roll or simply ease into the gas it helps reduce the effect, sorta like rolling your foot into the pedal. Another method that works but you have to be careful of the tranny shifting on you. I hit the gas hard, take my foot off the pedal all together, then nail it to the floor and if it is done right i will launch pretty hard. If you miss the tranny will shft up and down real fast and it sounds punishing. If you do it while passing or racing someone when your already moving it will hold the lower gear longer too.

what is a descreened MAF? and what can I do to my 97 1500 to make it faster besides what I already have? what is the best chip/programmer to use and will a torque conv. work well? how do you feel about sway/strut bars? is an edelbrock fuel injectionkit worth the money?

Descreened MAF sensor is simply taking the screen of you mass air flow sensor. It helps with throttle response. Im not sure how yours is set up but check out the 'free mods list' for details. Its on here somewhere, try searching for 'Free Mods List'. Well the edlebrock set up is really sweet. My neighbor has a dump truck with a big block and the edlebrock fuel injection, let just say he smokes the dual rear wheels real easy. Is it worth it for you, prob not. You are looking at quite and overhaul and might as well scrap half the stuff on your truck (ECU, sensors, etc). The best thing would be to work with what you have. You could do heads, headers, electric fans, and a programmer and get real good gains from them on top of what you have done already. I would look at doing the heads, headers, electric fans, bigger fuel injectors and maybe a little port and polish on the throttle body. Then afterwards, get a Wheatley (sp) tune or a Diablo Sport programmer.
