I was at an auction yesterday and there was a strange but kind of cool truck there with a write up on the dash. If the information was accurate GM was going to put out a truck in 1990 with a Corvette powertrain. They never mass produced them and supposedly this was 1 of 2 that made it out. It was a dark gray truck with some really wild (definitely late 80's early 90's) triangle graphics down the middle. It had a flush hard tonneau cover with a really cool molded in wing on the tailgate. The best part was under the hood where a tune port injected 350 sat with the same wild graphics painted on the runner cover. It also had a stepside bed, but the actual steps were removed so it had a dually look to it, but you could still see it was a customized stepside bed. I might have missed an oportunity to own a piece of GM history, but had never heard of such a beast so I was afraid someone was trying to sell a dream. The truck had the word Spectre on the bottom of the doors in a similiarly wild decal as the middle stripe. I did a google search and the only thing I found was in an article for the old Syclone Sonoma trucks there was mention of a Spectre Corvette truck in the works. The truck had only 23,000 miles and sold for $5000. I think it might have been a truck that could be worth a fortune one day.
Let me know if anyone has heard about it.

 

Isn't that why they made the SSR's? They said some of them they added the C6 motor to it. Or do I hit my drinking limit? Lol

I'm in England, U.K. but I recently bought an October 1991 copy of Sport Truck on eBay, (as it had an article about the 'Hot New' 1992 Typhoon and I own No. 0117).
