Default Auto Climate Control Z71

In my 04 Z71 I have the automatic dual climate control.( digital display for those wondering ) Anyway, on a recent trip to Buffalo ( from Tennessee ) it decided to take a ****. Yes it was cold up there too. After fooling with it for a hundred miles I figured out that to get hot air to come out I need to set the temp for 90 degrees. ( max setting for the unit ) At 89 degrees it puts out cold air ( all cold air ), or the outside air with a/c manually disabled. So basically, the unit will not blend warm with cold air to get comfortable temperatures. In so doing, if the temp is at my usual 72 with the a/c on, it will blow as hard as it can thinkingit's blowing 72 degree air while it is actually blowing freezing *** cold air. It won't stop blowing because it's waiting to get to 72 while it never will. Thus, my conclusion thatit's simply just not blending warm air with the cool air. I hate to think what the cost of one of these bitches is, so I'm looking for your input, Anyone had to replace one before. The dealer told me it could also be a bad program, I'm just not sure how that suddenly decide to go south.

its usually an actuator when one side takes a dump...but this was relevant to both sides?...sounds like a HEAD,A PROGRAM,OR (MOST LIKELY) a temp sensor giving bad info...better get it checked for codes

I'm about 99.9% sure it's in the head. How much do they run? Do you know?

Try ebay or a bone yard, its a long shot but it could save you some serious cash.

Dealer said a reset wouldn't get to the climate control, that was my first question when they told me it might be a program issue.

I know when mine started blowing hot on one side and cold on the other, a computer reset fixed it. That's why I thought it may be worth a shot. And costs nothing but a few min. of time to try.

are you talking about disconnecting the battery for a minute type of reset, or the dealer plug it in reset?
