Default Automatic Climate Control/AC question

So the little "snowflake" indicator in the climate controls will not stay illuminated. I generally have everything set to auto. Sometimes I deselect the A/C while the control unit is in auto. As of this weekend though when I select the A/C the indicator comes on for a moment, flashes and then goes off. I also don't feel the or hear the compressor kicking in. Any thoughts? Just had the H2O pump replaced, truck only has 70,000 miles on it. In wintertime I used the A/C to remove moisture from the cab of the truck to keep the windows from fogging up.

If it is set to recirulate the air in the cabin you can not place it in the defrost or heat and defrost possition, the light will just flash and go back off. So make sure it is in the possition to draw air in from the outside.
Sorry if you already know this, I just thought I would mention it as it is a common problem people come into the dealership about.
Good luck to you.

Default Thank you for the response

I will verify that but I usually don't use recirculate since for the most part we are in a dry climate. I will check that.

No recirulate selected and the issue seems to have gone away... either operator error or their is a humidity type sensor thing that deactivates it when not needed. Weird thing is I know the AC kicks on and off when it needs to but the automatic climate control indicator does not indicate this, it just let's you know your auto w/AC is active. HMMM.
