Default BBK Throttle body

I bought a bbk throttle body online. I have a superchip programmer, intake, throttle body spacer, flowmaster exhaust, hollowed out maf, and forced air-induction goodman hood. I installed the throttle body and it is throwing off throttle linkage codes and it wont rev over idle. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could possibly do anything to run it temporarily until I can afford a full tune? Also I see the posts of bypassing the throttle body coolant lines? I would think I could just use a braided brass nipple and connect the two lines together? Does it actually effect heat transfer of air to the intake?

My truck had a long enough hose on the passenger side to go all the way to the block on the driver side and eliminate the extra hose. Then I put 1/4" vacuum plugs over the throttle body conections. There a little increase in power.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to try that, every little bit helps when working on a tight budget.

This is definately true, There are alot of free or low costmods available. I would pul the pads from under the intake while you are doing it. There is one in front and one in the back just inside and under the intake manifold.

Guys:
BY PASSING THE COOLENT LINE TO THE T/B HAS KNOW EFFECT ON HORSE POWER.
ALL THE MODS THAT I HAVE DONE TO MY 2004 GMC-SLT-5.3 I HAVE DONE SOME SERIOUS
RESEARCH. I USED A LAZER HEAT GUN WITH THE HOSE CONNECTED and DISCONNECTED. AT
OPERATION TEMPERTURE THERE WAS KNOW CHANGE IN TEMPERTURE.
AS FOR THE BBK 80MM T/B ONE OF THE BEST H/P GAINS THAT I DID.THE 2004 5.3 CAME WITH
A 75MM T/B. I USED A 1" TRANDAP SMOOTH BORE, MILLED DOWN FOR A GOOD TRANSITION.
WORKES LIKE A CHARM. LOOK AT JB2004 RIDE IN THE GMC SECTION.

The point of the bypass is - it doesn't hurt anything. Removing extra heat from the throttle body isn't a bad thing (unless you're in really cold areas). Whether your laser showed a difference or not, it's just a free mod you can do that keeps some heat out of the throttle body that doesn't need to be there.

It's a mod that you won't feel or see any gains from but it doesn't hurt anything.

Did you see how old this thread was by the way? lol
