Default Best Price on Brand New 2007 2500 4x4 Diesel

Hello All-

I am about to pull the trigger on a 2007 2500 4x4 Diesel and have shopped this truck out!!! What is the best price other's have received on this truck. The one I am looking at is fully loaded with a sun roof, etc... and the MSRP is $47,100+/-. The OUT THE DOOR price from this Dealer is $41,800.

I can also buy the same exact truck except it's a 2006 model for $38,900. Leaning towards the newer truck for depreciation reasons. Let me know of your thoughts asap !!!

Also, should I wait until next friday (last day of the month) or until 12/31 to buy? Let me know!

Thanks!!!

Ric, sounds a little steep to me. Are you positve on the MSRP? To be honest... you're not going to get much help with this forum. Yes, i'm a newby... but it behooves me that a forum such as this isn't more active with current and "up to date" posts. If it helps you any.... I bought a 04' 2500 crew cab 6.0 liter (gas) in late 93'. Asking price was $37,500. I paid 26,900 and thought I got a good deal. NADA now is about 19K and i owe around 15k. Don't get me wrong... I'm happy with the whole deal and love this truck. I'm Chevy all the way. My only advice is to walk away as many times as you can. don't let them know you gotta have it. They will call back with a better offer, promise.

I agree with myjack, you can get a better price buy just taking time. The sticker price sounds right (I looked at a similar truck in 05') and they will not budge much with the diesel / allison package. I was able to get them down to 38k (without navigation or sunroof, but everything else including spray on bedliner and toolbox). I did not get the truck though since I could not afford it. Also I believe the 2007 has mor HP and torque than the 2006. I may be wrong, but it would be worth researching.

Thanks Myjack and Smoke.......

Yes I am positive on the MSRP. I have shopped this truck with at least 5 individual dealers and the two most competitive are within $100 of each other. One of those two is a sales manager for Chevy. He is a very good friend of a friend and told me that there was no way possible for ANYONE to beat his deal because he went $1,000 under invoice and was "taking care of me". I know to be cautious with any of these salesmen. He actually was correct and beat the 2nd lowest guy by a mere $5.00. The 2007 Diesel is fully loaded (excluding GPS) and is $41,800 out the door.

Remember that these trucks are LT3 packages as well. FULLY LOADED. That being said, I am also considering a 2006 Diesel LT3 which is identical to the 2007. The only difference is year built. A separate dealer got down to $38,900 out the door on this truck (came down from $40,500). The MSRP on the 2006 is $46,750+/-. Therefore, the difference between the 2007 and 2006 is $2,900. I believe the 2006 has depreciated more than $2,900 in one year even though it doesn't have any miles on the truck.

Our state has a no tax sale on Friday and Saturday (ends today) in which I can save $300 on either truck. The $300 has already been taken off of both above figures. Not sure if I should do this deal today..........wait until the last day of the month (end of next week)......or wait until the last day of the year. I've been told the last day of the month and of the year are the two best days to buy. I wish someone that has bought either a 2006 or 2007 Diesel LT3 would let me know how much they paid and if these numbers are in line. Or, should I just walk into the dealership with a check for $??? for the 2007 and leave if they don't take it???

Myjack.....I agree with your comments about the forum. I can't believe their hasn't been anymore comments on this post than two post......now three! Come on everyone......................HELP ME OUT !!!

If you take in cash you can always get a better deal. Start with saying I will give you 35,000 and be very assertive as you count(and I mean actually count) out the cash money. If they will not take the deal then say well who will? Generally a mananger will get involved then a general manager. If you act irritated they will quickly move you up the line. The big thing is be ready to walk out at any time(even if just to think or waste time) as is makes dealers nervous. Also look for the new guy, the guy who has his name printed in his handwriting. They try to help these guys, and you canget better deals. I unfortunatly have been this guy and it sucks. I no longer do this. I hopem this helps. I am in Charleston, SC and will help in anyway I can, especially if you are close. MW

Smoke-

Incredible. I am in Charleston, SC also. I found another one today closeby, and they quoted within $100 of the other dealers. I have 3 dealers within $105 of each other for the same truck. $41,800+/- FULLY LOADED. MSRP IS OVER $47,000. Do you really............really think they would sell this truck for $35k? Or even $39???

Another dealer faxed statements for a 2007 LT1 Diesel for $38,700. It has leather but does not have a sunroof. Remember, this is an LT1.

Almost bought a 2007GMC 2500HD 4X4 with a LBZDuramax and an Allison 6 speed auto. That truck was SICK!!!Bad-***!!! Roasted the tires from a dead stop on the test drive. No turbo lag.Make sure if you buy a d'max, it's the LBZ and the 6 speed auto. As for the price, it was anECSB with theWT package. Manual windows and rubber floors. Asked $37,000 and change. You could talk them down, though. Didn't buy it 'cuz the salesman was a lying bass-turd.Asked him how much he could come down, and he said he could only drop it $1,000. There was a sign on the wall right behind him saying GM was giving $2,500 rebates. What a dillhole.
