body or suspension lift??
hey guys, Im new here and did some searching of the forum and couldn't find the answers I was looking for so maybe someone could lend some info
so I have a 94 sierra z41 ext cab. I have an extra set of wheels that came with it and i would like to run 33/12.5-15's because I only intend to use them to go to the snow, and they are easier to come by, but the current 32's i have rub. so here's my query
1.) does the z71 package come with a stock body lift and if so how big 2",1"??
2.) which would be better a 3" body lift, or a 4" suspension lift.
3.) has anyone on the site done either a suspension lift or body lift on this truck , how hard is it, and does anyone have a tutorial/blog of an install so i can see what Im up against if I decide to do it. I am a mechanic and fabricator, but I still would like to know what Im getting in to ahead of time.
thanks in advance,
mike

A body lift is much less expensive, here is one. Chevy Truck Body Lift Kit 1988-1994 by Performance Accessories #10013
A suspension lift will involve torsion bar keys and maybe upper control arms and new shocks as well as other parts. The higher the lift the more it will cost. My 2 inch leveling lift cost $2000 at a local shop on my 2004 GMC Z71.

Z71 does not have a body lift.
4" suspension lift is better than a 3" body lift.
Only body lift I'd run is a 1" to gain extra room for working on a off-road truck, if that.
Suspension lifts are more involved but you end up with a better product.
You can tell from a mile away when a GM IFS truck has a body lift as it is not a good look IMO.
How about some Bushwacker cutout fender flares?
