Brake pedal pressure

Brake pedal pressure
Whenever I push hard on the brake pedal of my 02 1/2T 2WD Silverado, it does what it should, it stops my truck. However, when I slammed on the brakes to test the ASB, it mearly came to a quick stop, without the pulsating pedal. Even though I push on the pedal hard, it will go to the floor. Even when I'm parked, I can push the pedal and it will touch the floor stop.
Do I need to have the system bled ??? None of my brake indicator bulbs light up.

I agree that there could be some air in the system. A good system bleed should take care of any doubt in that area. The newer Chevy trucks tend to have a pedal that feels softer than others. My 05 does also. System is bled and as good as it has ever been. If you push hard enough it feels like the pedal goes too far, but while you're driving it stops extremely well. I don't recall every pushing that hard to make even a panic stop though.
If you're going to test the ABS, try a surface that is more likely to engage it. A sandy, slick, or slightly rocky surface will let the wheels lock up easier. A good surface may simply stop well since there's no slippage that is registered as out of parameters by the controller. Proportioning, whether by a mechanical valve or electronically controlled usually takes care of the balance between front and rears keeping the rear wheels from locking up during more normal stops or where the tires have extremely good traction.
