Broke DIC?
My wife’s ’03 Silverado has an issue with the Driver Information Center.
First problem she had was with the ABS. It keeps pulsating when stopping, but only at the very end of the stop. Less than 5 MPH to stopped. Mechanic says it’s most likely bad contacts in one of the wheel sensors. To keep this from happening, she has had the ABS fuse pulled for about a month. That throws a code to the DIC that there is an ABS problem. Not a big deal, truck is finally going in to the shop to fix the ABS problem. While we were driving back from a camping trip, the DIC did some strange things. All of a sudden the odometer went to like 16 miles and won’t work, trip odometer doesn’t work, sporadically the turn signal alarm will chime as soon as you turn on either turn signal and not even wait for the ¾ of a mile. Speedo and all other gauges seem to work fine. These problems happen both when the ABS fuse is pulled and installed.
Had the gauge cluster replaced a while back… 1-1/2 – 2 years ago or so.
Does this sound like the gauge cluster is screwed up again or do y’all think it’s something else?

Why did you have the cluster replaced they first time? Was it for the same reason?
The reason for my questions is that if you've had the same problem with clusters, there might be an underlying cause that is screwing up the gauge clusters, and until you find and fix that problem, you might very well screw up another cluster.
Of course the replacement cluster could have had some issues before you purchased it, too. With all of the electronics in today's vehicles, it's a wonder they don't screw up more often.

The cluster was replaced the last time because the speedo and several other guages quit working. Never was an issue with the numerical display portion as it is now. I understand that the gauge cluster is a known issue with the Silverados/Sierras/Avalances.
I would be real upset if I purchased the first cluster and it quit... The last one was replaced under warranty.
