i think u can stay at the bumper of a hemi ram..the way ur truck is now......cause all my truck has is a small cam, headers ,and flowmasters.......with 3:42 gears and 33's and i eat hemi rams all day long with no prob...ohh..yeah and a stock 06 2500 hd with the 6.0 and 4:10 gears all stock has no prob..beatin them either

 

345 hp on the new dodge with the hemi, 0-60 7.9 sec, quarter mile in 16 at 85.9. As opposed to 5.3 slverado 0-60 8.5, quarter at 16.5 @85.9. Also the Hemi is 200 lbs heavier. This is all stock info from consumer reports. Also notice the silverado is gaining after it gets past the torque management crap, they have the same quarter mile speed.
I also would like to see my truck dynoed, but after the tune.

 

Hhmm. Wonder what they run on the 1/8 mile stock. I know my truck was ran a best of 10.61 in the 1/8 mile with the only mod being a drop in K&N factory air filter replacement. I think with my mods and a tune I should be running a real low 10. We don't have a 1/4 mile track close by. I think the closest is in Panama City. I ain't driving that far.

 

I also think my truck is MUCH lighter than most Rams. I think that helps me a lot! My dad has a full size Sierra with the 5.3 and I've driven it quite a bit. It has a lot more torque than my truck but it is a much heavier than my truck. Most Hemi Rams I see around here are full size. Guess that gives me the advantage.

 

Yeah your truck is much lighter especially being a stepside (fiberglass bed). I think with a little more you will be good to go.

 

my buddy has a hemi and I wanted to race him but after we went for a drive one day he said "no way!!!!" his is also stock though.

i think the buddy with the ram saw how quick 78chev's truck is and decided not to embarass himself by racing... my buddies with fords do the same thing... talk a big game til they see my truck in action

 

With only half a second difference, just take a laxative ([:@]) the night before the track and shed some weight.
