Titan? Come on.....I've smoked em.A buddy of mine owned one, and it bored me to ride with him. He thought it was fast, until we took a ride in my truck.... Back to back, he could probably pull me, but he definately couldn't outrun me.

Tundra? Who know's? Sounds fast, but looks like a cross between a Ford and a Dodge...Neither of which appeal to me, JMO though!
Well, street racing can do that, swing the advantage to the experienced driver and not the fastest vehicle necessarilly. In controlled test with the same driver and track, a chevy won't come close to betting a titan in every test i saw. Even with my Tundra, if i don't turn off the traction and vehicle stability control, it won't post it's best times either. Got to know how to get the most out of your vehicle and sounds like your friend doesn't know how to race his yet?

Okay, it's time for you to get of the Silverado board. No hard feelings. Off you go.

The 2001 SVT F-150 Lighting is another leap over the 1999-2000 model. Today's truck can do 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and finish the quarter-mile at 100 mph in 13.9 seconds. And we can assure you, those 13.9 seconds go by very fast indeed.

Well, here is a link to an actual run on a track that's right with it. This guy is not a professional driver and of course temp and elevation effect times. Here was told his corrected time would be 13.89 at 100mph based on his best run. Hard to argue this!
Now who's the dumb a$$ sir? P.S. NO SC needed! A guy on tundra solutions traded his lightening in on a new Tundra, and he's very happy he did.

No SC, but it does have DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder and a 4.10 gear in it.

It is faster out of the hole, due to the gearing. Gear an '07 GM 6.0 the same and see what the outcome is, they are BARELY slower than the Tundra, with SOHC, 2 valves per cylinder. I'll give it to ya, a Tundra is quicker in factory trim (if you know how to use it)....but not enough to write home about. Besides, at the stoplight....while you're trying to turn off your traction control, the GM will already be gone.

Actually with GM's torque management system, i got plenty of time to turn it off and allow a 1sec head start it seems from one vid shown on youtube. And, the Tundra actually has a 4.30 gear in it, since they are smart enough to include a six speed tranny, they can get away with it and still put out top mpg's vs. the rest's big motors. Most tundra owners know to turn it off when they start the truck as it also helps with better gas mileage. I will admit i love GM vehicles, and i hope that Toyota gets the GM engineers as fired up as some of you got, it will lead to GM trying to get back on top again and it's a win-win for us consumers. But i wasn't willing to by their second best effort now, hopefully next year things will change as i never keep a vehicle more than two years! The 6.2L Denali does peak my interest though, but at a price i'm not willing to pay!

If you are referring to the video link that you posted....I think it is biased, as much so as the tundra pulling the F-150 around. It sure looked to me like the silverado wasn't running to it's potential for a modded version. IDK, though...I'm just a poor Missouri boy without alot of performance experience, lol.

I'll agree with you on the development issues. Maybe Toyota spending a billion dollars to develop a decent ride will further inspire GM to spend a little to get back on top.

And that's what competition is all about! We will all reap the benifits of Toyota's billions they spent to up the bar. Toyota's my be on top for now, but i don't expect GM to lay back for long. It's not hard to see the public wants 60's muscle again along with mpg and reliability, and are willing to pay for it. Toyota finally added the muscle part and it's really catching on! The rest will take notice or end up with chryslers problems. I hope GM is the one to make it! As for biased vids, i can tell you that the Tundra's have to be stock as their are no real mods out for them yet. Math would say the most hp and torque with a 4.30 rear and broadest power curves connected to six speeds would win wouldn't it?

Wow talk about sleeping on the line... Btw lightning posts up high to mid 13s if driven right. Its all about driver which I can tell was asleep in right lane in that vid lol. Good time though for that truck though it isnt truely a lightning beater stock. Change the pully on the Lightning and you'd really be ****ting on the Tundra.

Yes, the 5.4SC motor is nice and really good with a pulley swap. But, is that's what's needed to wax a stock truck. What happens when a TRD- SC becomes available for the new 5.7L Toyota? Just putting a performance tire on the Tundra like a lightening runs would help even the score. I personally would never own a two wheel drive anyway so lightenings and SRT10's aren't an option for me.
