Chipped?

Chipped?
Hey guys, when i got my pickup I was informed that it had been repossessed from a guy in texas. It had 80,000 miles at the time, and I couldnt leave a stop sign without lighting the tires up a little, it actually took a concsious effort to not spin em. So my question is, could this guy have chipped the pickup before i got it, and not had a chance to take it out before it was repo'd, and if so, is there any way of really finding this out?

RE: Chipped?
I have an Edge Juice w/Attitude on my Duramax. The chip is actually just velcroed to the fuse box right above the wheel well under the hood on the drivers side. They could have also just used a programmer, but I'm not sure how to tell if that's the case. Hope this helps.

RE: Chipped?
Your best bet would be to have someone hook up some tuning software like HP Tuners and check your timing, shift points, torque management, etc. and see if anything has been changed. I'm not very familiar with the chips though, so can't help any there...
You could also take the inspection plate off the bell housing and see if the converter has been changed.

RE: Chipped?
Sorry I havent replied in a while, i have been in the middle of wyoming...enough said
Anyway, It has no other mods and it shuts off at 97mph, athough i read all the time people saying they cant get their pickups to light em up. Did the 99's have that torque management?
Thanks
