SMOKE, do you have 2WD or 4WD. If you can avg 22.5 mpg now with 4WD I will be all over upgrading my truck. Right now, bone stock according to the DIC in the truck, without running the auto climate control I avg close to 17 mpg. I would not hesitate to drop a grand in mods to get a 4 mpg increase.

Z-71TwoTone - mine is 4wd. And the 22.5 was before the change and mostly on the highway. Now it is just getting better since the change. From what I can tell, max mpg with cruise set at 65 and no traffic I average the same as before on the tests I did at 26.1 mpg. The real difference is coming in real world driving and I am getting 4 mpg better there even when traveling 80 mph.

smoke - I live in east tennessee with lots of hills to imact my fuel milage. how about where you live, many hills or mostly flat? 20 mpg would be very nice for me to get to, 22 or even 26 would be great. what mods do you have right now getting you that mpg.

I dont see dropin in a grand in your truck to pull three or so mpg. That would save in the long run if your wantin that extra $20 a month in your bank account i guess.

A GRAND DROPED ON PERFORMANCE PARTS AINT MUCH. YOU WILL HAVE TURNED A BORING "PLAIN JANE" COMUTER INTO A PRETTY QUICK SPORT TRUCK. AND YOU WILL BE GETTIN BETTER GAS mi., DEPENDING ON HOW HEAVY YOUR FOOT IS. Z71TWOTONE, DROP THAT GRAND ON SMART PARTS AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

As for performance parts, then yeah... but i was thinkin you wanted it for the sole purpose of saving gas. Didnt make much sense to me, but to soup that puppy up, then a grand will be enough to get some juice out of your truck.

We don't have many hills here, we joke about our hills are the high bridges. But the increases I have seen are in this area with real world driving. I have a heavy foot and still see these increases. I was able to achieve 15.6 mpg with heavy acceleration multiple time and running up to 95 today. Don't get me wrong, I don't recommend or condone doing this unless you have proper training and a controlled environment ( I have many training and testing in a 15,000 vehicle doing 85 mph speeds) plus the tickets of doing this would be rediculous.
