Default Cleaning air filter?

Can you clean a volant air filter with the k&n cleaner? I am guessing you can but did not want to screw it up. Thanks Guys

i would imagine you wouldnt have any problems at all. they probably use the same cleaners but package them differently to package with their filters.

Man im glad i looked at my filter. Since i put the ram airtube on my truck with the volant it made my filter really drity. Must be all the dirt and sand roads i go down.

I cleaned my air raid filter last week with the K&N package, since almost all auto stores carry K&N only for that. Worked just fine, I need to redo mine though, think I over oiled. Either way follow the directions and you'll have no problem.

I steer clear from the maf, I don't like messing with the damned thing. I wiped the front off, my intake came apart and my maf was the filter, that was a fun find. I'm actually curious if that canned air stuff would clean the maf or mess it up.

It won't hurt to clean it while your there, unless you want to see the difference the clean filter alone makes vs the clean filter and maf for a comparison.

I used some of the MAF cleaner we sell at O'reilly's on mine and it didn't hurt it at all. Ofcourse it didn't do that great of a job at cleaning it... atleast I don't think so. But I'm certainly not going to rub those tiny little microsensors with a cutip and risk scratching one and making the MAF fail prematurely. If you've got a lot of oil from your air filter built up on it though the cleaner should do the trick.
