Code Scanner Not Linking.
I purchased a code scanner(Autel maxiscan MS409 OBD2) so I can pull the codes from my 2003 Silverado. When I connect and turn on the key I get an error message saying that I have a linking error. The new scanner works on other vehicles without a problem. Also I already tried another scanner on my chevy, still no luck. My question is ...has anyone else had this linking error and what did you find to be the problem. Thanks in advance.

sounds like you blew the fuse for the interface....usually it it the same fuse that the lighter uses

Or power port uses.

Thanks crisbmo, you may be right. The power port has never worked. Now to find the right fuse. I believe that I checked them all in the past, is there something I'm missing?

OK Thanks I'll keep looking.

If the fuse is good, then the cig lighters is gonna be the problem. The OBII port is powered by this in series.

Looks like the cig lighter above the ash tray is in rough shape. I'll start with that one. Won't be till the week end. Thanks again.
