common problems?

Hello, I was wondering if the intermediate steering shaft is a common GM problem? I noticed the Avalanches have the same problems. The tailgate cables as well, by what i can see. What exactly is or where isthe intermediate steering shaftlocated? I ran the history of my truck and the intermediate steering shaft was replaced i believe twice, and the tailgate cable as well. Is there a grease fitting or something that could help with the steering shaft. I notice theres 1 spot when i turn my steering wheel, i can hear a squeaking noise. Thanx, Jim

Look up recalls on your truck, it talks about the cables, as far as the steering shaft, GM recognizes it as a problem, but hasn't ordered a recall yet...
