Converting Dash to later model style

Looking for a little help/suggestion/sense slapped into me...I want to convert a 91 silverado's dashboard into something a little later down the timeline. I was looking for something mid-90's, but i'm not sure mechanically if all guages would work. Half of mine aren't working as it is, and i really don't feel like trying to find and fix old trash. Anyone think it's possible? I'm fairly sure all of the mounting brackets are the same, it would be more of a matter of relocating vents, andtrying to hook up all electronics.

you'd need a donor truck...mostly wiring is different

and a steering column

well getting the parts won't be a problem. i have a few wreck yards by me. It's actually a manual transmission so i was thinking i wouldn't need a new steering column. Do you think if i were tosplice tothe proper harnesses that all the guages would work or do they run off of the cpu differently?

its just 1 big plug.l.i think you'll need the harness and new cluster..

you'll need a column to look right...you have the old round column...those stopped in 95

Argon will the Denali dash cluster from same year 2002 swap right into my Silverado

as long as your console setup is the same...denalis have a luxury console extending off the dash....some silverados' do as well...

I'm looking to do the whole dash from door to door, gauges, and possibly radio(though i might make that a custom one). Ideally i'm trying to avoid the $300 they want for 2 gauges (oil pressure & oil temp) that stopped working. I'm pretty sure i can get a whole dash from the junkyard for that, but i'd like to get one from ~'95 as they were a little more sleek, the concern was i know GM runs a lot of things through their factory radio, which i am fairly sure my truck, as old as it is, wouldn't. But hell if all it would be is some simple wiring and not have to worry about computer, i'm doing it.

i would love to do a switch to a 95 or 96 myself so if its only wiring i could start looking for the dash but i only want the truck dash. how different is the wiring, just for the gauges?

Stopspazingout, i'm going to try to hit a junkyard this week and tear the dash apart on a ~95 if i can find one. I'll take some pics of what makes it tick and see if i can compare it to mine. Your internals should be the same as mine. I can't imagine them charging much over $200 for a dash if i think it'll work, but i'm shooting for charcoal so there's a pretty slim chance i'll find what i want right away anyway.

it sucks that this is a little over 3 years old and the last post was that someone was going to the junk yard to see what they could find out. i am currently in the process of re-doing my interior on my 92 silverado. i already converted the door panels to the late 90's model panels a couple of yrs ago, and now i have the new dash and am looking for someone who's done this before for some guidance on the wiring. if there's anyone who can help please let me know!

Probably because it's not worth the headache of wiring the new dash in. If you have to have the new interior sell your truck and buy a newer one. You'll be much happier in the long run.

Help

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado, and I am wanting to know if I can install a later model dashboard so that I can have the in dash navigation. Does anyone know? And if so what years?
