Default Converting Dash to later model style

Looking for a little help/suggestion/sense slapped into me...I want to convert a 91 silverado's dashboard into something a little later down the timeline. I was looking for something mid-90's, but i'm not sure mechanically if all guages would work. Half of mine aren't working as it is, and i really don't feel like trying to find and fix old trash. Anyone think it's possible? I'm fairly sure all of the mounting brackets are the same, it would be more of a matter of relocating vents, andtrying to hook up all electronics.

you'd need a donor truck...mostly wiring is different

well getting the parts won't be a problem. i have a few wreck yards by me. It's actually a manual transmission so i was thinking i wouldn't need a new steering column. Do you think if i were tosplice tothe proper harnesses that all the guages would work or do they run off of the cpu differently?

its just 1 big plug.l.i think you'll need the harness and new cluster..

you'll need a column to look right...you have the old round column...those stopped in 95

as long as your console setup is the same...denalis have a luxury console extending off the dash....some silverados' do as well...

I'm looking to do the whole dash from door to door, gauges, and possibly radio(though i might make that a custom one). Ideally i'm trying to avoid the $300 they want for 2 gauges (oil pressure & oil temp) that stopped working. I'm pretty sure i can get a whole dash from the junkyard for that, but i'd like to get one from ~'95 as they were a little more sleek, the concern was i know GM runs a lot of things through their factory radio, which i am fairly sure my truck, as old as it is, wouldn't. But hell if all it would be is some simple wiring and not have to worry about computer, i'm doing it.

i would love to do a switch to a 95 or 96 myself so if its only wiring i could start looking for the dash but i only want the truck dash. how different is the wiring, just for the gauges?
