I was watching Power Block this weekend and saw them install and dyno test this rascal, Fitch Fuel Catalyst
It was on Horsepower. They were doing a transmission change on a Monte Carlo. They got a good bump on 87 octane.

Yeah but a Monte Carlo comes stock with pretty restrictive cats on top of the fact that they were probably clogged up with carbon. Probably wouldn't have any affect on your truck.

I don't know. It looks cool but for $175 bucks, it will take me almost a year to get that back in gas mileage. If someone else trys it out let me know. If it makes a noticable difference in performace and I can install it myself, I'd get it.

I gotta quit sticking my foot in my mouth. I saw catalyst and thought you were talking exhaust systems. My bad.

Look it up for a good explaination but it has something to do with a special compound of metals that take the refining (of the fuel) one step further. Is supposed to condition the gas in such a way that is burns cleaner and you get more power out of it. Like 87 octane would feel like 91 octane.

Well its tempting but its between that and exhaust. I want to keep my torque so I'm flirting with the idea of this thing, but like I said Im not sure how involved it will be to install and Im not sure if it will be worth it.

P.S. With my 91+ tune and my 180 degree thermostat I can run 89 octane without any problems, this might be a device I could use to run 87 octane and still get the performance from the 91+ tune.
