corvette servo???...help me understand?!

Default corvette servo???...help me understand?!

what is this corvette servo i've read so many of you guys having? fill me in on the who, what, when, where, why, how?!!

It's a shift servo from a corvette that you put in your tranny and it helps the shifting. That's the short answer, basically it stiffens up the shifting from 1 to 2 and a little better from 2-3. I've read that different people felt different results. I did it after much thought and I have not regretted it yet. I will honestly say it was the best 20 bucks I've spent on my truck in along time.

What exactly is a servo?? How do they hook up or bolt on or whatever else they do, for 20 dollars I might think about it on my truck

It's a little piston basicly, the oil pressure in the tranny pushes on the piston and it in turn pushes on another rod that pushes on the apply clutches. It's way more than I need to understand. The servo itself is on the right hand side of the tranny and the cover for it looks about the size of a snuff can. It is held in place by a snap ring, take the snap ring and cover off and then the servo comes out.Tell you what, go here:

good basic answer. and for $20.....might as well start looking for one, i've spent $20 on a whole lotta dumber sh**

i had mine on monday after ordering it on friday.
best $20 ive spent, well $70, i had a shop install mine

Ok my turn.........so what is the reccomended year of corvette servo to get?????? Im going to be doing my rebuild soon and thought I might try this also.

Not really a certain year you look for. Its only one type. The next step up is a billet servo which has even more surface area. But unless you are putting out about 600 plus horses the corvette servo will do fine. What they dont show you in the videos is when to use a vice to compress the piston to take the c clip off. But it is explained really well in the instructions.
