A Couple Maitenance Questions ************
Say, I just bought an 06 Sierra 1500 4.3L 66,000mi
And I'm in the process of going through it
I have changed the fluids, and I'm going to flush the radiator as well,
I threw a code 128, Thermostat
So I swapped out the thermostat belt and tensioner
I noticed when I was changing the thermostat that the tensioner was jumping quit alot and I was getting a clicking noise under the hood while I was
driving it as well
Question: Is it normal for the belt tensioner to jump around on the belt
like that ?
My other trucks never did that
Question#2 Where is the best place to bleed off air
in the cooling system
Also I installed a gator back belt and it quieted down
quite alot under the hood
In case anyone else was wondering
Any futher recommendations while I'm going through this new to me truck
I am clueless when it comes to late model Silverado's
Thanks, fella's

Ahhh okay so you don't participate around here much,
I belong to the Corvette Forums and answer quite a few Questions over there, I Also do Write up's
The 4.3L motor is new to me (DD)
Thus far I have swapped the plugs and wires
I elected to use NGK TR 55'S Gapped at .60
I swap plugs in my car every 20k miles so using copper cores suits me fine
Also I replaced the cap and rotor and swapped out the trans and motor oil
I like castrol full synthetic (motor) Castrol DEX IV (trans) and run Bosch oil filters
The plug, cap, and rotor swap truely smoothed out the Idle and throttle response is much quicker,
I put a gator back sepentine belt on and this further quieted down some of the noise from in under the Engine Baie
Today I'm going to flush the cooling system and then bleed the air out of the cooling system
Also I will swap out the PVC valve
I'm working 12Hrs tomorrow so that will be about it for today
Keep you posted
