I have a 2000 2500 4x4 6.0L, is is possible to switch from the 4L60/80E to an allison tranny? I am right at 115000 miles and I know the tranniesgenerally don't get much past 130000 without some help. Any info would be helpful.

 

i would look at the 6l80e. thats what i have in my truck, and i love it!

 

i think he meant he has the 6l80 and wants another one...but arent allisons for diesels...? does it make a difference?

 

The allison is also in the trucks with the 496 (8.1L)

 

oh ok, but def not the 5.3 and 5.7....is the 8.1 still in prod? that sounds liek a beast of an engine
