The cruise control on my 2002 GMC Yukon quit working a few months ago. I'm planning a long trip, so I took it to a local repair place (not a dealer) that has always done good work. He told me the servo module is bad and it will cost about $1000 for the part and labor! Does that sound right?
I had an aftermarket one on an older Suburban. I think I bought it at Walmart or an auto parts store. Will these work on a 2002 Yukon?

 

The brake lamps need to all be working for the cruise to work. Got burned by this once. Also have seen cable at the throttle body come off for some reason. Just something to check.
