RE: Custom tuned cpu installed.
I have the Hypertech Programmer and I'm happy with it but I'm thinking about getting the ECU tuned and returning the Programmer. I like the programmer cause I can decide on premium or regular fuel (depending on the size of my paycheck each week) and I can adjust the shift points for towing versus fuel savings. Im willing to sacrifice these options for performance however. Is it really worth it over a programmer? I'd like to know what the HP increase is on tuning. Programmer for my truck is about 10 on regular and 15 on premium fuel. Low end torque gain is great too. (not sure exactly how much but its the most noticable gain).

RE: Custom tuned cpu installed.
Im going to get my truck custom tuned soon and there is a guy who does it locally here for $175 plus free return visits. Do you think this would be better than doing the mail order thing with Wheatley? He uses EFILive or something like that and he told me for the most accurate tune I would need a bung welded into my O2 sensor for him to use his wideband sensor. As far as I know he changes just as many settings as Wheatley can, if not more. I dont know much about CPU tuning and programs but hopefully some of you do. Is EFILive worth a crap or what (compared to Wheatley)?

Hey guys, im new here. I have a 2002 GMC Seirra with the 5.3L engine in it. I have done a few things to it and it will spin the tires sometimes. I dont like to do brake stands with it because it has 4 wheels disc brakes and i already had to replace the back brakes once... that might also be your problem why you cant do burn outs
