Default daytime running lights

I have a 2002 Silverado LT extended cab and one of the daytime running lights is blown.I changed the bulb and it still wont come on.I see at least 4 or 5 trucks a day with one light does anyone know if GM has a recall on the lights or anything?

did you check the bulb? I have, on rare occasion, purchased bulbs that were bad. Did you touch the bulb during installation? The oils on your skin can cause the glass to crack when the bulb is turned on (halogens only).

Do you have a voltmeter? Pull the bulb and check the pins. If you don't have power trace the wire back till you do. Your problem should be at that point.

everytime I replace a bulb in a chevy I use that di-electric grease. otherwise they never last long. I had to replace two tail light assemblies before I fiqured it out.

Check the wires and the contacts in the socket, the contacts in mine had some crud in them preventing a good connection. If the socket is bad they aren't expensive to replace ( i don't think ).
