Default Deleting Cats...1996 GMC K1500

We have a 1996 GMC Suburban K1500 with the 5.7L Vortec engine.
The truck has high mileage, and I think at this point the truck would benefit from the removal of the catalytic converters.
I assume that doing so will cause the rear O2 sensors to set the Check Engine lite. What is the recommended solution here? Is there tuning software available for this application to turn off the rear O2's? Are O2 simulators still available?

Thanks very much,
Rick

Both options are still available. Just google some simulators and you will find some. A custom tune is the other option. Handheld tuners dont do that.

When I searched for O2 sims for this application, I found only the build-it-yourself types with a list of parts from Radio Shack.

Our local dyno tuner has access to SCT, Diablosport, and HP Tuners software. None of these companies cover the 1996 GMC application.

Any suggestions?
