Default Dirty mats!! The cure!

I was in our detail department the other day picking up a car for delivery and I saw a technique that I'm sure will impress! It did me!
There was a set of mats from a 2004 Toyota Camry that were spotted and filthy dirty. Almost to the point of throwing them away and getting a new set. I thought it would be a good idea to get some all purpose cleaner out...spray the heck out of the mats and pressure wash them clean. One of the detailers saw what I was about to do and stopped me and said..."Let me show you something!"

He took some foaming carpet cleaner and sprayed the mats and then took an electric high speed buffer with a wool pad and proceeded to "Buff" the carpets. Guys...the mats came out brand new with little effort. He said.."When they dry...vacuum them and suck out the dirt particles and you'll be good to go. Mine were not that dirty, but I tried it on mine...and they look perfect!!

Check it out!! Nothing makes an interior look like crap more than a set of crappy, dirty mats!

I never thought of that, thanks for the advice. The problem I have is that I have the original 1992 GM floor mats. They are clean, but so worn down that you can hardly even tell where the grooves used to be. I'd like to get some new ones before winter, you have any idea where I can pick up some nice ones cheap?
