Default Does exhaust tip location affect sound?

On Tuesday I get my single in/ dual out flowmaster exhaust installed. I have to decide where it exits. Does location or bend affect the sound? My choices are straight back, angled toward each side of rear bumper, or behind each tire like the stock single is. I want the location that gives the best sound!

straight back would probably give you the best sound, although i like the look of the angled at the bumper.

for sound wise i have heard that when they are straight out the back its harder to hear in the cab because the sound is directed away from you! but if you get side out on either or both sides the sound resonates a little more back to you! go with dual side out!

I have it straight out the back and i think it sounds awesome. Flowmaster 50 series, single in dual out......

straight out the back is a little raspier and louder outside the truck, bent at 45 is louder inside the truck... its not a big difference though... i had my exhaust setup (with cats) both ways.
