yes but you probably can get more power out of it
it just takes alot of number crunching and research on what cams will provide the best lift and what heads will provide the best compression and what size pistons will work with your bore and what size piston rods youll need
like i said it takes alot of research and number crunching to get the power you want
so before jumpin in i would do some research about the differences in the cams are and what not if you go to websites that offer performance parts they will be your best bet to do the number crunching
also one thing i forgot to mention is i would suggest a new harmonic balancer and timing chain as well

The first thing to do to increase power with the 305 would be a taller gear ratio. You probably have something around 3:1. You could go with 3.73:1. I don't remember if you said it's a 4X4. If so, of course you have to change front/back. This is the single thing that will give you most oomph at takeoff, especially with tall tires. Crane has good cams for small V8's & Edelbrock makes some good TBI manifolds. You could do some upgrades & finish with a better engine that you'd have with just a TBI 350 swap.

From what I'm reading, it looks like the 350 Vortec heads are the easy bolt-on swap for you. And I suppose you'll need a custom tune when finished.

yes your right more gas more power but i dont think you can put 2 4 barrels on there unless you find an intake manifold that is ment for it.
for example the old dodge 440s used to have a 6barrlel carb on it
or i think someone somewhere makes an plate or adapter or something for it so you can do that but again research is the key
