hey what does that X-pipe do anyways?? i have true dual exhaust but dont have that X-pipe in mine .. thanks

lol on more question>> i see that u have flowmasters on urs but do u have an offset intake/exhaust or is it an offset intake and centered exhuast??

The best way to get a nice set of cams is to find a company you like (ex: crane cams, Lunati cams) call them up and tell them what you have and what you want your power band to do. Tell them that you have stock or aftermarket heads and then go from there. They should be able to help you out.

sorry guys, been out on vacation. The x-pipe combines the exhaust to help with scavaging effect. Here is what I have found from my trip. In town 11.2, highway 18 with 33" tires @ 80 mph. The truck is fast as hell over 3000 RPM, but a dog under as no back pressure. I think I am going to put in an adjustable valve to control flow manually. eventually I want some pressure at low range and open above 3000 rpm to click in automatically. I just have to do a little more research. So, you need backpressure for low RPM, but not at high.

Since my exhaust has an x-pipe, what do you guys think about me clogging up 1 pipe till I find a solution? And what should I clog it with? I think a better solution would be to partially clog each side, but with what? I looked at the exhaust control valves ans butterfly valves, but this is an expensive solution ($240 in parts plus labor). So any ideas?

maybe you can weld in a circular piece of flat steel and make it so that u block half of the exhaust opening>> or even block it completley and drill a hole in the middle of it to narrow the exhaust flow>> i sawsomething on muscle-car tv (www.spiketv.com) where theyused electric butterfly valveson a sleeper project car>> if it was me i would go with the expensive ( but adjustable) butterfly valves so that you can decide when u want back pressure>>

get a set of the electronic exhaust cutouts there pricey but they work
you could really have 2 exhausts i high back pressure for drags and burning rubber
and with the flick of a switch you have low back presure for high speed racing, really it's the only way to go because you can get off the line then half way down the track switch to low back pressure
and blow away everyone........... i thain i'm gonna do that myself

That is probably the route I will go, just was making sure there were no other options. I hate to have to dump alot more money into an exhaust though. What kind of price have yall seen on these valves? The best I have found is $160 a piece.
